Sandalwood has four varieties.
1. Sri Vishnu Chandan,
2. Sri Lakshmi Chandan,
3. Sri Raktha Chandan / Lal Chandan / Kali Chandan &
4. Sri Turmeric Chandan.
Each has many properties, we have taken the Sri Lakshmi Chandan and Grinded in the traditional way with Pure Rose Water to make the paste.
This is pasted with pure steam distilled Rosewater to make thilak after the Holy Shaligrams Thiruvarathan.
How to make a rich Paste?
Drop 2 - 3 drops of Rosewater on this paste and well with right hand ring fingre.
Now the paste is ready and can be applied on the holy Shaligrams / God & Goddess Photos.
For the forehead thilak, the same procedure to be followed but in a separate plate.
We should not mix / use the same Chandan for applying on the FOREHEAD.
